A HIGHER LEVEL OF OUTPATIENT CARE

Structure, stability, and support—

without an overnight stay.

When weekly therapy or an Intensive Outpatient Program does not provide enough support, a Partial Hospitalization Program can offer greater structure without requiring inpatient hospitalization.

Altium Health’s Partial Hospitalization Program, commonly called PHP, provides comprehensive daytime treatment for adults experiencing mental health challenges that are significantly affecting their daily lives. Clients participate in structured programming throughout the week and return home each evening, allowing them to receive intensive support while remaining connected to their home and community.

Treatment may include group therapy, individual support, psychiatric care, medication management, case management, skill development, and ongoing assessment based on each person’s needs.

UNDERSTANDING PARTIAL HOSPITALIZATION

Partial Hospitalization is one of the most structured levels of outpatient behavioral healthcare. It is designed for people who need frequent therapeutic support, symptom monitoring, and help rebuilding stability but can safely continue living at home.

PHP can serve as a step up from weekly therapy or IOP when symptoms have become more difficult to manage. It may also provide a supportive transition from inpatient, residential, or crisis care as someone prepares to return to everyday life.

At Altium, treatment is not one-size-fits-all. We begin with a comprehensive assessment and work with you to determine whether PHP—or another level of care—is the most appropriate place to begin.

More intensive than IOP.

More flexible than inpatient care.

PHP is not meant to be a permanent level of care. It is designed to provide concentrated support during a period when greater structure is needed.

Your progress is reviewed throughout treatment. As you become more stable and confident using your skills outside the program, your care team will help you transition into the next appropriate level of support.

That may mean stepping down into one of Altium’s Intensive Outpatient Programs, continuing with individual therapy and medication management, or connecting with other services that support your long-term well-being.

A plan designed to change as
