Medical support that makes recovery

more manageable.

MEDICATION-ASSISTED TREATMENT (MAT)

Recovery should not depend on willpower alone. Medication-Assisted Treatment can help reduce cravings, ease withdrawal symptoms, and create greater stability while you work toward lasting change.

At Altium Health, MAT is individualized, respectful, and built around your health, recovery goals, and daily life—not a predetermined timeline or one-size-fits-all program.

SUPPORT WITHOUT JUDGMENT

Substance use can affect how the brain and body respond to cravings, withdrawal, stress, and reward. Medication can reduce some of that physical pressure, giving you more space to focus on your health, relationships, responsibilities, and long-term recovery.

Using medication does not make your recovery less meaningful. MAT is medical treatment for a medical condition and can be an important part of helping people feel safer, more stable, and better able to remain engaged in care.

You do not have to do this the hardest

possible way.

MAT may be appropriate for individuals experiencing opioid use disorder related to fentanyl, heroin, prescription pain medication, or other opioids. Medication may help reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings, block the effects of opioids, and lower the risk of overdose.

Medication may also be used as part of treatment for alcohol use disorder. Depending on your needs and goals, treatment may help reduce cravings, decrease heavy alcohol use, or support continued abstinence.

opioid and alcohol use.

CONDITIONS WE TREAT

Your provider will explain the available options, expected benefits, possible side effects, safety considerations, and alternatives. Medication selection depends on the substance being treated, your recent use, medical history, current medications, and personal preferences.

Some medications can be started in an outpatient setting. Others may require specific timing, additional monitoring, or referral to a specialized treatment provider.

Treatment begins with understanding

what you need.
