A safer, supported way to begin.

AMBULATORY DETOX

Withdrawal can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to navigate it alone.

Altium Health provides physician-supervised ambulatory detox for adults in West Jordan, Utah. Clients receive medical care and monitoring during scheduled visits, then return to the comfort and safety of home each night when clinically appropriate.

Every person’s experience is different. Our medical team will evaluate your symptoms, health history, current substance use, previous withdrawal experiences, and support system before developing an individualized treatment plan.

Ambulatory detox, also called outpatient withdrawal management, provides medical supervision and symptom support while the body adjusts to the absence of alcohol, drugs, or certain medications.

Unlike an inpatient detoxification program, ambulatory detox does not require an overnight stay. Clients visit Altium Health for medical evaluation, monitoring, and treatment, then return home between appointments.

The amount of time spent in the office varies depending on your symptoms and medical needs. Most ambulatory detox plans last approximately 3–7 days, although your physician may recommend a different timeline based on your response to treatment.

Medication may be prescribed when clinically appropriate to reduce withdrawal symptoms, support comfort, and lower medical risks. Your treatment plan will be adjusted as your symptoms change.

IS AMBULATORY DETOX RIGHT FOR YOU?

The safest starting point begins with an assessment.

Ambulatory detox can be an effective option for some people, but it is not appropriate for every withdrawal situation.

Before treatment begins, our clinical and medical team will complete a comprehensive assessment that may include:

  • The substances you have been using

  • The amount and frequency of use

  • Your current withdrawal symptoms

  • Previous withdrawal or detoxification experiences

  • Your physical and mental health history

  • Current medications and medical conditions

  • Your home environment and available support

  • Your treatment goals and continued-care needs

This information helps us determine whether withdrawal can be managed safely in an outpatient setting. If you need a higher level of medical monitoring, our team will explain the recommendation and help you identify a more appropriate setting.
